Sisters

I kind of feel spoiled

I have 5 best friend sisters

and 1 best friend sister in law

and 1 best friend mom

and we all got to spend a long weekend

Together

in Washington DC

all because we all have

1 bestest dad

who thought it so important

that we get together

without the guys and kids

except me of course

because I got to bring along my

1 best friend little travel buddy

I am pretty spoiled.

Cousin Cookies

Holland and I

had a tradition

in the Harbor.

Sunday afternoons

we would make cookies.

But now that we are in Utah

it has taken a few weeks to find

those traditions again.

Atlas

they are found.

And they are so fun

to do

with

cousins.

Sugared up on a Sunday night.

Warmth

We went

South

to hang with the cousins

and (bummer) so I could work

Holland was is heaven

She and Abby did a whole lot of

Nothing

which is the best thing for kids to do.

Nothing

consisted of

building 11 large birds nests

out of last years grass clippings

and carefully placing rock 'egg' families

in each, and covering them up

to keep them

Warm

Because after all,

it was a mere 68 degrees there in the

South

This is what they did each day for

Nothing

but 4 hours or so

(and bummer, we didn't get a picture!)

Then, we figured we should

take them to do

Something

And

Something,

was the bounce house.

I met them after work

and maybe laughed as much as they did.

Somehow running around with

two little girls,

sliding and sticking to the sweaty sides

and watching little Rhett

eat 'treats' out of the water fountain

and off the floor

was so much better than doing

Something.

I Love This...

Christmas

Some things I want to remember about Holland in Hawaii

How important it was to her to have, and wear almost every day, a Hawaii dress
That all she wanted to drink every day was lemonade
How many pieces of coral she collected and piled on our towels
How much she LOVED the Polynesian Cultural Center, how many times she said "that's beautiful"
How much sand dumped out of her swim suit at the end of the day and then the long tubs she would take
Watching her excitement as she kissed and danced and tickled the bellies of the dolphins
Chasing fish in the reef
Teaching her how to boogie board and how much she loved it
Eating shaved ice before it could melt
Sitting under an umbrella while it rained and darting out to the sea whenever there was a sun burst
Sitting on the beach watching fireworks on New Years Eve, Holland still looking for more coral
Convincing her how amazing the pineapple was, and then having her ask for it at every meal

So grateful to bury my toes with you Holland

Friends

I really have been blessed

by the greatest of friends

They have taught me

to be strong

to be happy

to be healthy

in every way

They have taught me

how to be divorced

how to be a single mom

how to yoga

how to serve

how to laugh

and have fun

They have

Taken me to the ballet...

for Valentines Day, because they knew I would be alone.

Brought me flowers, just because.

Fed me Sunday night dinner, because they knew it was my loneliest day.

Taken me shopping and for pedicures and shopping some more,

because somedays, you just need to not worry about your account.

Made me green drinks and gluten free pizzas and cookies and

hand made necklaces

to remind me of the little things.

They have

Listened and listened and listened.

Those are the most important things.

Each of them have filled that spot

in their own amazing way.

I love when a quick last minute trip
all comes together
Especially when
it is my sisters
all coming together.

Beautiful Baby Jack

So Ashley and I invited ourselves to be part of it.

And that is all we did.

Long

And then we finished the cozy snow day off
with a yummy dinner and laughs.
